    Get messy and let your creativity flow while you learn the unique art medium of pouring paint on raw canvas! In this series, you will learn about color theory, paint pouring, and canvas stretching. The first class will be testing color on mini-abstracts, while the second and third classes will involve you painting, building, and stretching your larger canvases to create a work of art ready for hanging! All supplies included.

  • Botanical Illustration

    Learn how to illustrate botanicals using observational drawing, sketching and watercolor technique! This class will use reference images as well as going out into the open air to sketch different local plant varieties.   • Family Workshop: Foam Printmaking

    We have another family printing workshop, this time on styrofoam sheets! This type of printmaking is perfect for young kids looking to explore a different art medium! Participants will carve into styrofoam sheets using wooden dowels, and then print their designs onto cardstock using acrylic paint.

    Hand-built Pottery
    January 11th & 25th

    Saturdays: January 11th & 25th. 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

    Learn how to create pottery without a wheel! Using methods like coils, slabs, and scoring, you will leave this class with some beautiful ceramics of your own. The first class will consist of building the pottery, and the second class -- two weeks later--  will be glazing the pottery. The time in between classes allows for us to achieve a bisque (primary) firing, and glaze firing (secondary), to yield you a completely functional and timeless piece of art!
    We will reach out to you after the second class when the glaze firing is complete for you to pick up your ceramic art!

  • Outdoor Sketching

    Join us for an open-air workshop to refine your nature sketching and painting skills! Participants will meet at the Lake Mansion and walk down to Wingfield Park to sit by the Truckee River, enjoying the weather and making art of your surroundings!
