Join us at the Lake Mansion to celebrate Black History Month by recreating Dingda McCannons Woman #1. Dingda McCannon is a mixed-media artist from Harlem, NY and is renowned for celebrating the daily life and histories of Black women through her artwork. Students in this class will learn how to convey emotion and meaning through composition, color, and subject, and will leave with their own replica of this famous abstract piece of art.

Celebrate Women's History Month through art by painting a replica of Flourine Stetteimer's "Shallow Bowl"! Florine Stetteimer was a significant force in the modernist art movement, and chose to paint subjects immediately around her: still lifes, portraits, her experiences living in New York City. This class provides step-by-step instruction for all levels of artistic talent.

In this family workshop, participants will learn about the process of making Zines! What exactly is a zine? A zine is a self-made publication about anything you are interested in, you will be able to collage, draw, and write anything about everything you want to! You can create a zine about your family, your favorite books or movies, your favorite animals, and more!
Ages 6 and up. Anyone under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
$35 per project. Two people per project.
